Dance theatre with refugees „World Second Hand“
Dancers across Borders is a group of participants of the vhs stuttgart integration courses, who meet three times a week for working out a dance theatre. The piece was choreographed by Heidi Rehse, a trauma therapist and her asistent Larry King Ofori Bamidele. The refugees from Iran, Irak, Syria, Eritrea, Camerun and Gambia are full of experiences caused by loneliness, hope and pain. It’s about reorientation in a new live, which doesn’t feel like their own yet..
At the 20th International Solo Dance Theatre Festival Stuttgart Dancers across Borders provided proof of their dancing talent and collect first stage experiences. The audience was thrilled. For the refugees it’s more than only dancing lessons. „Dancing ist helping us to overcome our depressions and to improve our german.“
